The Standard Hotel is The Standard
August 20, 2010 0 CommentsLike many things in life, it’s all who you know right? Next question is, “Why do people go to hotels in Hollywood? To see and be seen right? The whole idea of seeing and being seen is interesting when you think about it. Ask yourself, What are we all showing and being shown? ANSWER… evolution…Oooooooooooooo think about it, the folks in Hollywood show us what we are supposed to buy, supposed to be, supposed to behave like and so on. Every once in a while, the patter setters in Hollywood draw a blank and need some new ideas, enter the outsider. This person could be an actor, or a musician, or a tech genious with the latest streaming video codec or just some star struck celeb-chaser looking for a hotel room to crash in style. In Hollywood , it’s all about style and not necessarily super expensive, sometimes it’s the cheaper spots that draw the most eclectic crowds like the Mondrian or further down the Sunset Strip , the Standard hotel. The Standard really does in many ways, set a standard. The food is good, the vibe is hip with an upscale flair and the rooms are simple but stylish with a cool view all for 99.00 a night! Considering that for 99.00 a night, The Standard really is my first choice when staying in Hollywood. That’s not entirely true, when I have the dough I stay at the Le Montrose but that’s more in the 200.00 plus range. So if you are in Hollywood and trying to make the statement that you are young, hip, fun, stylish, yet frugal, I say go to the Standard.
